Michele blog about selling and buying homes in Edmond and OKC metro area

This is a blog with different posts about the real estate in the OKC metro and Edmond area. I love selling and buying real estate with people. It is a challenge and a wonderfull accomplishment when the perfect house is found.

Selling your home!

You want to remember that you think your home is wonderful.  I do too, because I see the good things about your home.  But then we both have to step back and look at it from the perspective of a buyer and see what there is in the home for us to buy it.  Oh no, this hurts sometimes, because we starting seeing things that we have overlooked.  Declutter your house and take out as many personal items as you can.  Clean it up or have someone come in and clean for you.  Then keep it cleaned up everyday.  That way it is ready to show on a moments notice.  Many buyers can be impulsive, you don't want to miss out on that sale do you?  If you don't want to mess with all of that, then adjust your price accordingly.  People overlook things when they get something for nothing.  If they are paying for a great home, that is what they expect to see!

Having a credit repair is such a hard time because of the mortgage crisis but the low prices in the West are pushing home sales up and relieving some of that economic tension. Home sales went up by 13 percent in the West while home prices dropped 26 percent. In the United States, overall home sales are still down about 11 percent compared to last year. At least we are seeing some progress in some parts of the country. People are even changing the way they view things. More and more people are becoming more responsible with their finances and are doing their best to repair credit. Those who dreamed of getting that $1 million home has opt to a $500,000 home; which is looking pretty good in today’s economy. According to Business Week, trading down is the new real estate reality. Although the East appears to be a little slow to catch on (in terms of mortgages), I’m sure they’ll catch on quicker than we think.
